I have painted for many years. My focus used to be on creating atmospheric landscapes of The Peak District and The Lakes, exhibiting my work across the north of England, including The Valley Gardens for many years until 2010.
I am now looking forward to returning to Harrogate with my work.
After 20 years of successful work, I decided I needed a new challenge, eventually finding inspiration in The National Portrait Gallery, in particular the works of John Singer-Sargent. His work seemed to reflect my creative wiring but in a genre I had never given much thought to.
That was 18 months ago and now I am enjoying the journey through this fascinating and diverse genre.
